MDC Invites All to Spend a Day on the River in Downtown Cape Girardeau


The Missouri Department of Conservation invites folks out to spend a Day on the River at the Red Star Access in Downtown Cape Girardeau.  
Families or River Lovers of all ages can enjoy free boat rides, live aquatic creature displays, and other river related activities.   The boat rides are free, however it is a first come first serve ride, and visitors pick up their tickets at the information table and wait their turn. 

The day on the river is not only a fun day, but the intention is teach individuals more about the big river ecosystems, and its impact on our area.  The Mississippi River is not only an important part of Cape Girardeau’s heritage, but is home to diverse wildlife. 

The Day on the River is Saturday, Sept. 22 at the Red Star Access in Downtown Cape Girardeau from 9 am to 4 pm.  For more information on this event and others offered at the Cape Girardeau Conservation Nature Center, call 573-290-5218 or go online to www.MissouriConservation.org.
