4th of July Events in Southeast Missouri

Cape Girardeau, MO
Event: USA Veteran's 4th of July Celebration
Date: Wednesday, 7-4-2012 at 9:00 AM to Wednesday, 7-4-2012 at 10:00 PM
Location:. Arena Park
Cost: free

Description: The day will begin with washers tournaments at 9:00am. Food and merchandise booths will be set up in the park throughout the day. A demolition derby will begin at 6:00pm. in the Arena Park grandstand. The Southeast Missourian's Spirit of America Award will be presented.  The award will recognize an individual who most embodies the spirit of the nation: patriotic, loyal, giving, entrepreneurial and more. Nominations may be submitted online at www.semissourian.com/forms/spirit. The day will end with a fireworks display performed by AM Pyrotechnics.


Jackson, MO 
Celebrate with your family and friends at the Parks and Recreation's Annual July 4th Celebration in the Jackson City Park. This day of family fun is open to the public and will take place on Wednesday, July 4th, from 7:30 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. Fireworks begin at 9:30 p.m. Admission and parking is free.

Fireworks Display  Begins at 9:30 p.m.


Farmington, MO 
Medallion will host an outdoor concert on July 4th in Engler Park from 7PM - 9PM.  There will be a fireworks display afterwards.

This is a free event.

Fredericktown, MO

July 4 events will begin at 4 p.m., in Azalea Park.
On site and in action events include an anvil launching by Gay Wilkinson, anvil bingo, Big River Volunteers Missouri State Guard encampment, craft and game booths, dunking booth,  the Madison County Chamber of Commerce will be selling armbands for $3 which will give guests unlimited rides on a large water slide.  The Fireworks have been canceled, but the festivities will go on.

Poplar Bluff, MO
Bulter County Fair will kick off Wednesday July 4th at 9 am with a parade. 
Events throughout the day include Bull Fest,  BBQ Cook-off, Bicycle Race, 5K Race, Horse Shoe & Washer Pitching, Coon Dog Treeing Contest, Youth Roping Contest, Tractor Pull and much more.  For a complete list of details, please visit their website.


EAST PRAIRIE, MO 

The Elm Street Baptist Church Party will be July 3 in the Main Street parking lot. The Street Dance will also be July 3 at 9 p.m. on Main Street
On July 4 the Parade line-up will be at 9:30 a.m. at Doyle School The parade will be at 10:30 am in Downtown East Prairie. A community fireworks display will be at 9 p.m. at the East Prairie High School football field.


ORAN, MO 
Oran's July 4th Picnic
A buffet-style dinner will be from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. It costs $9 for all-you-can-eat, children six to 12 are $4 and under six are free.
Musical entertainment will be Classy Chassy Leroy & Becky from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. and The Caney Creek Band from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Western Wagon rides will be from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
A horseshoe tournament will be at 1 p.m. The entry fee is $6 and registration starts at 12 p.m.
A washer tournament at 4 p.m. has an entry fee of $6. Registration starts at 3 p.m.
Fireworks will start at 10 p.m.

Unfortunately due to the extreme heat and dryness a few local communities have decided to postpone their fireworks display.  At this time Perryville, Malden, Dexter is cancelled, several communities are borderline, so check with your local community the day of the 4th to be certain.
